Preferred Family provides a full continuum of services for people experiencing substance use problems.
Preferred Family has services available including group therapy, individual counseling, alcohol and drug education, recreational therapy, relapse prevention, and an introduction to support groups. Some groups focus on special topics like assertiveness, stress management, relapse prevention, and family dynamics.
With admission into Preferred Family Healthcare each person is assigned a counselor. Counselors provide individual counseling as well as group therapy. They teach about the negative effects of substance use and teach skills needed to support a healthy lifestyle, free of alchohol and drugs.
CSS (Community Support Specialist) workers serve as the professional liaison with referral sources, employers, medical professionals, attorneys, and other community resources. Community Support Specialists teach life skills and coordinate aftercare. They access community resources for assistance with housing, utilities, clothing, education, childcare and healthcare. Our Community Support Specialists also address how to have sober “fun” and encourage healthy social activities.
