TRENTON — Preferred Family Healthcare (PFH) hosted an open house for its newly-expanded Trenton Clinic Wednesday, July 30.
The $2 million expansion adds more than 4,900 square feet of space to the building at 1628 Oklahoma Avenue. Most of the addition will expand Preferred Family Healthcare’s residential treatment program for clients facing substance use disorders. The Trenton clinic offers residential and outpatient treatment for addictions, plus outpatient mental health and primary medical care.
“Whether it’s preventing suicide, treating addiction or reducing stigma surrounding mental health care, we are doubling down on the high-impact efforts our team makes 365 days a year help people in the communities we serve,” Preferred Family Healthcare President Mike Schwend said.
Preferred Family Healthcare began operating in Trenton in 1997 and moved into part of the Oklahoma Avenue building in 2000. PFH grew to add residential treatment services in Trenton in 2001. Residential treatment moved into the Oklahoma Avenue building in 2007, shortly after PFH bought the building.
PFH Vice President of Integrated Health Services Kathy Hoppe began working from the Trenton office when it opened in 1997.
“This clinic expansion has been highly anticipated for our team members, not only for the modernized space, but for what it represents: a continued promise,” Hoppe said. “A promise that as we evolve, we will always stay rooted in compassion, care and community.“
Preferred Family Healthcare added youth services for psychiatric rehabilitation clients in Trenton in 2020.
