Dayspring Community Services is a mental health agency serving people in their local communities. Talking a holistic approach to working with our clients in their own environment, Dayspring therapists work with individuals and families to improve their ability to succeed in all areas of life by improving their overall well-being.

One in four Americans experiences a mental health issue. At Daysprings Community Services, we believe no one should travel that path alone.

In Oklahoma, Dayspring Community Services operates behavioral health clinics offering a variety of services included expanded virtual services; however, our professional staff can also be found in schools, homes, and settings throughout our service area. We also offer extensive bilingual services (Se habla español).

Available Programs

Infant Mental Health

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is an innovative treatment for children, ages 0-5, who have experienced at least one traumatic event such as malnutrition, abuse, death of a loved one, or exposure to domestic violence and are experiencing mental health issues related to that event. Dayspring employs several therapists who are CPP-trained and are prepared to handle the intensity of these cases.

Community Mental Health

Dayspring is committed to treating the whole person and will develop a plan for each client that meets their individual mental health needs. Dayspring offers a
wide array of community mental health services, including:

  • Individual Therapy
Dayspring uses evidence-based techniques to address the social, emotional, and mental health challenges the client may face.

  • Family Therapy
Licensed clinicians conduct family therapy with clients and their families. Therapy participants may include the child’s immediate family or placement family (kinship or traditional foster care).

  • Crisis Intervention
When life becomes more than a person can handle alone, Dayspring staff members are on call to intervene in a crisis. This may include emergency sessions, referral to a higher level of care, de-escalation, or advocating for the needs of our clients.

  • Case Management
This service connects families with resources to meet their mental health and basic needs.

  • Individual and Group Psychological Rehabilitation
Individuals who who experience difficulties to the point they struggle to function in the community may qualify for this service. Clients learn and practice daily living and coping skills which allow them live more successful lives.
Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

TF-CBT is a joint child and parent therapeutic approach to dealing with significant emotional and behavioral issues related to traumatic life events. Therapists will help children and parents learn new skills to help deal with distressing thoughts and behaviors, while improving life and family communications.

Health Home Services

A Health Home team, which includes a therapist, care coordinator, family or peer support specialist, and a nurse care manager, works together to provide support to clients and their families in their home environment.

School-Based

Since we are located in the school, Dayspring staff have a unique opportunity to see how students function in their daily environment. Our staff will work with families to improve their children’s ability to thrive both at school and at home. Dayspring is dedicated to helping you meet the emotional and educational needs of your child and entire family. Read more….

HALO Tulsa

What is HALO Tulsa? Halo helps foster and adoptive parents, and their children learn better communication skills to build stronger relationships over the course of a 10-week intensive outpatient program. Each week the family attends HALO night for two hours. During that time, children work on skills that enhance their ability to form meaningful connections, empowerment, and attachment. At the same time, caregivers attend classes where they learn about trauma and its effects on the brain, development, and the ability to build healthy, safe connections.

HALO is rooted in Trust Based Relational Interventions, or TBRI, which is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.

How to enroll or find out more? If you think you or someone you love could benefit from HALO Tulsa programming, email halotulsa@dayspring.pfh.org or call 918-712-0859 to learn more.

What are families saying about HALO Tulsa? We’ve received remarkable feedback so far from the first parents and caregivers to take part in HALO programming. Here is a sample.

What parenting was like before HALO: “Life was stressful and hectic. (My child) was always angry, I was angry a lot as well and we did not know how to communicate with each other. He never listened to me and always talked back.”

And after: “A lot calmer, we talk with each other instead of at each other. We have learned how to communicate with each other (in a way) that meets both our needs. There is trust between us and a lot more one-on-one time.”

Parenting before HALO: “It was frustrating. I only had tools I was handed down and they weren’t working well. My son is very strong-willed, and I didn’t know how to ‘control’ him. I was trying really hard to hold onto that control and he was resisting at every turn.”

And after: “It is improving every day. I am practicing and learning new skills daily. I feel like parenting the TBRI way is more about my responses and reactions. I am re-learning ways to lead my child to make better choices. The more I practice my parenting skills the less conflicts we seem to have.”

Before: “Our family life is chaotic due to having multiple kids with traumatic backgrounds and special needs. It is hard to slow down and focus on the triggers for behaviors and the most effective methods of correction. We felt like we could learn how to help each one of our kids.”

After: “We are more confident in dealing with our adopted children. We are more focused on our caregiver styles of attachment and what we need to work on to parent more effectively.”
