The C2000 program is aimed at empowering communities to successfully impact substance use and mental health problems through effective prevention efforts. Preferred Family Healthcare Prevention serves as one of the 10 regional support centers (RSC) in Missouri contracted with the Missouri Department of Mental Health to provide technical assistance, training, and support to Missouri community coalitions interested in decreasing their substance use and mental health problems.
The 27 counties in our area of responsibility are overseen by our prevention coordinator and divided into 9-county service areas, each managed by one of our prevention specialists. Utilizing SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework, our team provides expert support and access to financial resources for community coalitions interested in alcohol, tobacco and other drug concerns, and mental illness prevention efforts. Specific services we offer to organizations in our service area are community assessment, program implementation, and leadership and volunteer training.
