SPIRIT(School-based Prevention, Intervention, and Resources Initiative) is implemented at schools in Knox County by PFH Prevention Staff. Preferred Family Prevention is one of only five providers in the state for comprehensive, school-based substance abuse prevention program.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8 hour course aimed at helping adults understand and respond to youth who may be experiencing a mental illness or crisis, during adolescent development.

The Signs of Suicide (SOS)Signs of Suicide (SOS) is a 2-hour prevention program designed to combat increasing rates of suicide among our middle and high school students. Students watch videos on warning signs and how to help someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, and discusses these skills with one of our prevention team.
